Rod Carew

Rod Carew Biography

Rod Carew is a former Major League Baseball first baseman, second baseman and coach. He began playing on the sandlots in Panama. In 1962, he moved to New York City with his mom. Two years later he was playing for the minor leagues and in 1967, for the Minnesota Twins. An incredible left-handed batter, the California Angels grabbed him in 1979. After retiring as a player, he coached several teams.
