Arantxa Rus is born 13 December 1990, in Delft, South Holland. She is a Dutch female tennis player. In 2008 she won the Australian Open for juniors, defeating Jessica Moore from Australia. She is former junio No.1. Now she is playing professional tournaments (WTA and ITF). Her best position at Sony Ericsson WTA ranking list is 103.
Coached by Hugo Akkar and Eddy Bank, works with Dutch tennis federation. Lives with parents and sister, began playing at age 5 when sister took her to local tennis club. Finished high school in 2007. Favorite shots are backhand, serve and favorite surface is clay. Enjoys shopping, movies, seeing friends. Not named after Arantxa Sánchez-Vicario (parents just liked the name)

FEBRUARY - Played on ITF Circuit.
MARCH - Fell in Indian Wells qualifying; fell 1r at Miami (as qualifier, l. to Dominguez Lino); made Top 100 debut afterwards on April 4 (rose from No.104 to No.99).
APRIL - Fell 1r at Marbella (l. to WC Safina); fell 1r at Fes (l. to top seed Rezai); fell in Estoril qualifying; fell 1r at Madrid (as WC, l. to No.8 seed Sharapova).
