Ahman Rashad Green Biography
Born Ahman Rashad Green in Omaha, Nebraska on February 16, 1977, he began his professional career as a running back for the University of Nebraska.
Green began his career in his teens - as an All-America selection and state Player of the Year at Central High School in Omaha, Nebraska - the same school that produced such players as Gale Sayers and Bob Gibson.
Drafted out of college by the Seattle Seahawks, two years later he was traded to the Green Bay Packers marking the most significant performances of his career.
Missing only two games in his five-year Packer's career, Green ultimately tied the record for seventh-best rushing season in NFL history with 1,883 yards in 2003. He also broke the team's 41-year old single season rushing record held by Jim Taylor at 1,474 yards - the longest-standing rushing record among all NFL teams.
In the process, Green also raised the bar with a total of ten 100-yard rushing games in a season, establishing a new team record. Overall, Green also holds the lowest career fumble ration in Packers history, and did not fumble over his last 246 offensive touches in 2003.
As his loyal fans are aware, Green sports a Batman tatoo on his leg and is an avid Batman fan with an extensive collection of related comic books and posters. He shares his enthusiasm with his entire team and at one point presented them with rings he himself designed, with a Batman crest and the phrase, "Tough times go away, not tough people."
Now back home in Nebraska, Green currently plays for the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League.
