Dmitri Mironov Biography
Dmitry Mironov began his hockey career in 1985 with CSKA Moskva and won Soviet and European Champions Cup title with them in 1986 and 1987. He joined Krylya Sovetov Moskva in 1987, playing there until 1992. With Krylya Sovetov Mironov won two bronzes at the Soviet Championships in 1989 and 1991. In 1992 Mironov joined the NHL Toronto Maple Leafs and played with them through 1995, when he joined the Pittsburgh Penguins. From 1997-98 Mironov played with the Anaheim Ducks, but in mid-season Mironov was traded to the Detroit Red Wings, winning a Stanley Cup with them in 1998. Mironov finished his career in 1998-2001 with the Washington Capitals. Besides his two Olympic medals, Mironov was European Champion in 1991 and won a bronze at the 1991 World Championships. He also played for Russia at the 1992 and 2000 World Championships. His younger brother Boris Mironov was also an ice hockey player who won silver at the 1998 Winter Olympics and a bronze in 2002.
