Chris Evert was born on December 21, 1954 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In 1971, she was the youngest tennis player to reach the semifinals of the U.S. championship. She won the U.S. Open women's singles six times and repeatedly won the Wimbledon, French Open, and Australian Open singles, for a total of 18 grand-slam titles. For seven years, she was the #1 player in the world. She retired in 1989.
